Like the original Victorian farce, there is a villain, Mr Crooks; a hero, Lord Beaufoy; his fortune hunting friend, Jack Poyntz; and inside the school, a dull and mousy charity pupil, the orphan Bella; and a rich girl, Naomi Tighe. The lightweight story accompanied by just piano and drums was not strong enough to survive.
